What is Eco-Grip flooring?
Eco-Grip® Safety Flooring is a durable, slip-resistant commercial flooring system designed for demanding wet, greasy and high-traffic environments.
Its dense, non-porous construction creates a waterproof, easy-to-clean surface that resists moisture, stains, impacts and everyday commercial wear. Eco-Grip is commonly used in commercial kitchens, foodservice facilities, healthcare environments, veterinary facilities, athletic facilities and other heavily used commercial spaces.
How thick is Eco-Grip and what size are the sheets?
Eco-Grip flooring is 6.5 mm thick and supplied in 5' × 8' sheets. The material is reinforced with random short-staple PET fibers to provide additional strength, dimensional stability and impact resistance.
How does Eco-Grip compare to quarry or ceramic tile?
Eco-Grip eliminates the traditional grout joints found in quarry and ceramic tile floors. Those joints can crack, stain and become difficult to maintain in demanding commercial environments.
Eco-Grip also provides an impact-resistant, resilient surface that is less susceptible to cracking or breaking from dropped equipment while providing excellent traction in wet and greasy areas.
How does Eco-Grip compare to poured or epoxy floors?
Eco-Grip can typically be installed with less operational disruption than many poured or epoxy flooring systems. Because Eco-Grip does not require the extended cure times associated with resinous flooring, installations can often be completed in sections overnight, allowing facilities to remain operational.
Epoxy flooring is mixed and applied on site, which introduces additional variables into the finished floor. Mixing ratios, application conditions, pigmentation, texture, and the manual broadcasting of flakes or aggregate can contribute to variations in color and finish. Some epoxy systems may also experience bubbling, discoloration or ambering over time.
Repairs can be another important consideration. Repairing an epoxy floor may require specialized resinous flooring contractors, color matching, surface preparation, recoating, and additional cure time. Matching the appearance of the original floor can also be difficult, particularly as an existing epoxy floor ages or changes color.
Eco-Grip provides a more standardized repair process. If an area is damaged, the affected section can typically be removed and replaced with new Eco-Grip, then chemically welded into the surrounding floor with SpeedFlex®. This allows localized repairs without recoating an entire floor, extended cure periods, or the strong installation odors associated with many resinous flooring systems.
How does Eco-Grip compare to other PVC sheet flooring?
Eco-Grip is reinforced with random short-staple PET fibers, creating a strong, dimensionally stable commercial flooring material designed to resist the movement, curling and separation that can affect conventional sheet flooring.
Eco-Grip seams are joined with SpeedFlex® Liquid Weld, a UV-stable chemical welding system. Unlike many conventional heat-welded seams, SpeedFlex is designed to resist discoloration while creating a durable, watertight bond.
What is the slip resistance rating of Eco-Grip?
Eco-Grip is specifically engineered as a slip-resistant commercial flooring system for wet, greasy and high-traffic environments. Its textured surface is designed to maintain traction in conditions commonly found in commercial kitchens, bars, foodservice operations and other demanding facilities.

Is Eco-Grip made from recycled material?
Yes. Eco-Grip is manufactured using 98% post-consumer recycled PVC, helping keep recovered PVC material in productive use while creating a durable commercial flooring system designed for a long service life.
What colors is Eco-Grip available in?
Eco-Grip is available in six standard colors: Pewter, Charcoal, Slate, Mesa, Mocha and Forest.
Samples are available so architects, designers, contractors and facility operators can evaluate colors before specifying a project.
Do I need to use floor mats with Eco-Grip?
No. Eco-Grip is designed to eliminate the need for traditional loose floor mats in wet and greasy work areas.
Its permanently textured, slip-resistant surface provides traction directly across the installed floor, eliminating the cleaning, movement, replacement and potential trip hazards associated with loose rubber mats.
Installation & Repair
Can Eco-Grip be installed over my existing floor?
Yes. In many applications, Eco-Grip can be installed directly over an existing floor, reducing demolition, downtime and project costs.
Existing tile may remain in place when approximately 80% or more is intact and properly bonded. Eco-Grip can also be installed over properly prepared epoxy flooring and marine-grade plywood.
The condition of the existing substrate should always be evaluated before installation.
Do I have to shut down my facility to install Eco-Grip?
In many cases, no. One of the major advantages of Eco-Grip is its ability to be installed in sections, allowing many facilities to remain operational during a flooring project.
Crews can complete sections overnight and the newly installed area can typically be returned to service the following morning. This phased installation approach avoids the extended shutdown and curing periods associated with many conventional flooring systems.
Is Eco-Grip easier to repair than traditional commercial flooring?
Yes. If a section of Eco-Grip becomes damaged, the affected area can typically be cut out and replaced without removing the entire floor.
The replacement flooring is bonded into place and its perimeter is chemically welded using SpeedFlex®, restoring the integrity of the flooring system while keeping operational disruption to a minimum.
How are the seams joined? Is the floor seamless?
Eco-Grip sheets are joined using SpeedFlex® Liquid Weld, a proprietary chemical welding system that bonds adjacent sheets together.
Combined with integral cove details, SpeedFlex creates a continuous, watertight flooring system without the traditional grout joints found in quarry or ceramic tile flooring.
Can Eco-Grip go in walk-in coolers, freezers, or bars?
Yes. Eco-Grip can be installed in walk-in coolers, freezers, bars, beverage stations, dishwashing areas and other wet or temperature-controlled commercial environments.
Its waterproof construction, slip-resistant surface and resistance to moisture make it particularly suited for areas exposed to spills, condensation, grease and frequent cleaning.
Cleaning & Compliance
How do I clean and maintain Eco-Grip?
Routine maintenance begins by removing loose debris, followed by cleaning the floor with the recommended Eco-Grip cleaning solution and appropriate scrubbing equipment. The floor is then rinsed or recovered to remove loosened soil, grease and cleaning residue.
Because Eco-Grip is non-porous and does not use traditional grout joints, liquids, grease and other contaminants cannot penetrate the flooring material itself.

Does Eco-Grip meet health department and food safety requirements?
Yes. Eco-Grip is designed for use in commercial kitchens, foodservice operations and other environments subject to sanitation and health department requirements.
Its non-porous, waterproof construction, chemically welded seams, integral cove capabilities and compatibility with commercial drainage systems allow Eco-Grip installations to meet sanitary flooring requirements commonly required in foodservice facilities.

What is the warranty on Eco-Grip?
Eco-Grip® Safety Flooring includes a standard five-year warranty against manufacturing defects when the flooring is used in normal recommended applications and installed in accordance with Eco-Grip requirements.
The warranty may be extended to a full ten years with the regular and consistent use of the Eco-Grip® Complete Cleaning System.
